WELCOME MESSAGE

Diabetes and obesity have reached alarming rates in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. College of Medicine, Qassim University takes a lead to convene a national conference that will examine these issues and discuss ways to combat these illnesses through improving the environment, changing policies, building better health care systems, and helping individuals make lifestyle changes.

Conference Goals

  • Explore science, policy, education, program planning, implementation, and evaluation to enhance public health strategies to prevent and control diabetes and obesity.
  • Increase knowledge and awareness of successful, cost-effective, public and private diabetes and obesity programs.
  • Present innovative strategies to increase diabetes and obesity awareness and prevent its complications.
  • Provide opportunities for skill-building, information-sharing, and networking.
  • Eminent Medical Scientists/Academicians and experts of national and international standing will present papers/deliver State-of-the-Art lectures each of which will cover a wide spectrum of topics and facilitate constructive debate on various aspects of Diabetes and Obesity. The Conference will include Scientific sessions (Plenary sessions, free papers and poster presentation). There will be a Panel Discussion for the General Public at the end of the Conference.
